Jacqueline Anderson - Principal

I am honored to serve as the Principal of South Carolina Construction Academy and to help lead a school built on opportunity, purpose, and possibility. My educational journey began at the University of South Carolina, where I earned a Bachelor’s degree in English, followed by a Master’s degree in Criminal Justice. I later earned a Master’s degree in Educational Leadership from Arkansas State University and am currently pursuing a PhD in Educational Leadership at Coastal Carolina University. These experiences have shaped my belief in strong instruction, thoughtful leadership, and schools that are responsive to the needs of students and communities.

Before entering education, I proudly served as a police officer with the Horry County Police Department. That experience taught me the importance of safety, integrity, and building trust, values that continue to guide my leadership today. I later transitioned into education, serving as an English teacher and Assistant Principal with Horry County Schools. With over twenty years of experience in education, I have had the privilege of working alongside dedicated educators and supporting students at every stage of their academic journey.

I am married and my husband and I have raised four amazing children together. My family keeps me grounded and reminds me daily why the work we do in education matters so deeply.

I am excited to partner with our community and local industry leaders to create a school where students can earn their South Carolina High School Diploma while also gaining certifications and credentials that prepare them to enter the construction workforce or continue their education in college, whichever path they choose. I firmly believe that every student deserves to know their options, and it is our responsibility as educators to ensure they are informed, empowered, and supported.

My leadership philosophy is simple: to serve, to be kind, and to exceed expectations. Most importantly, I am committed to creating a safe, welcoming school where every student feels they belong and can thrive, regardless of where they come from or the pathway they choose. At South Carolina Construction Academy, our goal is not just to educate students, but to prepare them for meaningful, successful futures. South Carolina Construction Academy is where we are building students’ futures.
